Used tower servers for businesses and branch offices
Used tower servers let you run your own business applications without a server rack. They can support file services, inventory management or smaller virtualisation environments, provided the configuration meets the resource requirements. A freestanding chassis makes installation easier at sites with only a few systems. Reliable operation still requires a suitable location, sufficient cooling and controlled physical access.
A tower server is not automatically a quiet office server
Noise levels depend on the model, fans, drives and workload. A refurbished tower server can still be clearly audible under load. Before installing one in an office, check the manufacturer's acoustic specifications for a comparable configuration. A separate, ventilated equipment room may be more suitable than a position next to employees' desks.
Your installation plan should also cover unobstructed airflow, protection against accidental interference and a suitable power supply. An appropriately sized uninterruptible power supply can bridge short power outages and allow a controlled shutdown.
Size resources for your applications and future growth
- Files and shared storage: Plan usable capacity to accommodate data growth and provide enough network performance for concurrent access.
- ERP and inventory management: Follow the software vendor's system requirements and consider the number of concurrent users.
- Virtual machines: Account for the combined requirements of all guests, with headroom for the host system.
- Future upgrades: Check available memory slots, supported DIMMs, drive bays and expansion slots.
Depending on its configuration, RAID can tolerate individual drive failures, but it does not replace a separate backup. Important business data requires regular backups and tested recovery procedures.

Tell us about your applications, user numbers, data volume and installation location. The quote should also clearly specify the drives, operating system installation and required licences.
